The Laundromat Express is a family-owned community laundromat dedicated to providing a positive and comfortable laundromat experience. Literacy and playtime activities are the foundation of childhood development. It enhances cognitive abilities, encourages emotional expression, facilitates language and vocabulary expansion and cultivates imagination and creativity.
A shared initiative of The Laundromat Express and The Carter Family Foundation is engaging, promoting and supporting early childhood literacy. By providing resources, activities, and support, we aim to empower families and caregivers to create a strong foundation for their children's reading and language development. Together, we can ensure that children have the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond. Help us make a lasting impact on the lives of our youngest learners.
The Carter Family Foundation together with The Laundromat Express sponsored Cookies Corner an in-store Read, Learn, Play center. This area is in memory of beloved mother, Beverly Fallin, a dedicated and devoted children’s advocate and educator. In August 2024, The LaundryCares Foundation and their donors helped us enhance our Read, Learn, Play Center with our Free Laundry and Literacy event celebrating back to school. Since then, we have hosted 2 Free Laundry and Literacy events, free washes and other community forward initiatives.
